Teenagers from across Bolsover District’s secondary schools are looking forward to an African adventure this autumn – but need your help.

The youngsters will spend ten days in South Africa under canvas and travel to a variety of locations. During their expedition the students will be:

  • delivering first aid training to the local communities
  • working with two schools
  • working alongside lead ecologists to study the wildlife population
  • conducting an environmental impact study
  • learning about other cultures

To help fund their trip, they need to undertake some fundraising and one event to be staged is a cycle-a-thon.

This is where you can help. Held on Tuesday 30 April, the aim is to cycle 500 miles throughout the day and raise some money. Two stationary bikes will be placed in the reception area and are available to book in 15-minute slots for people to cycle.

Buckets will be available for people to throw their loose change into, so if you would like to take part then please contact our reception on 01246 242 365 and book your slot now.
