Using our facilities and activities

We are sure you can't wait to get back and use our great facilities, but this won't be the same for a while as we have to adhere to government guidelines and put into place social distancing measures for your's and our staff's safety.

This means we have had to restrict what activities we can provide, so below is a list of what is available and what you need to do to use them and we have also produced a video explaining how to book and what to do when you are attending/participating in the activities. Please note that during the first phase of our opening (from Saturday 25 July 2020) all sessions must be pre-booked. Sessions can only be booked seven days in advance and a maximum of 3 swimming, 3 gym and unlimited classes can be booked at any one time. Changing rooms, lockers and showers will be available for use, however we do encourage customers to spend as little time as possible in the centre, by leaving belongings and showering at home.

Please note that these guidelines may alter if and when social distancing guidelines change.

Swimming

Members must pre-book sessions either via the App or by telephone on 01246 242365. There will be a capacity of 18 people (6 per lane) allowed in the pool at any one time. Once you have shown up to your booking and collected your ticket from reception, you must proceed to the floor markings in front of the turnstiles and wait to be called into the changing facilities.

Sessions will last 60 minutes and will start every two hours at 15-minute intervals per six people to avoid crossover of customers – this will allow customers to use the same cubicle and locker on the way in and out of the changing rooms. It will also provide a 15-minute period for us to clean any used equipment and the changing facilities using storm jet 3 back pack sprayer containing Tersano Lotus Pro System water.

Family sessions will be available at intervals between the lane swimming sessions with the same time period for cleaning between sessions. Please note that only the lead family member needs to book a lane for the family sessions and the rest of the family will need to check in when arriving at reception. For the lane swimming each person must book the session and check in at reception.

All lifeguards have been trained on COVID-19 procedures provided by the RLSS in case of an emergency and they will have to complete a competency assessment before we reopen. PPE will be provided on pool side for staff to use in case of any emergency rescues/resuscitation/first aid.

Please note that the inflatables will not be available in the first opening phase.

Gym

Members must pre-book sessions either via the App or by telephone on 01246 242365. Once you have shown up to your booking and collected your ticket from reception, you must proceed to the turnstile in the gym and wait to be allowed entry into the gym by a member of staff. There will be a capacity of 20 customers per 1 hour session. There will be a 15-minute break in-between sessions to enable customers to leave without crossover on the stairs and staff to clean equipment down using storm jet 3 back pack sprayer containing Tersano Lotus Pro System water.

There is a one way system in the gym as indicated by the floor markings and we have spaced out the kit to ensure social distancing takes place. Please note that some machines will not be available to use due to social distancing measures. Zoning of training areas has been introduced with one person per zone to ensure we adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Sanitising stations have been placed in and around the gym and include blue roll, sanitiser spray and a bin to dispose of your waste. Members are requested to clean every piece of equipment they have touched after use and once the one hour sessions has finished our staff will clean all equipment again.

Our fitness instructors will be available on the gym floor to supervise and check adherence to social distancing.

Group Exercise Classes - Instructor Led

Members must pre-book sessions either via the App or by telephone on 01246 242365. Once you have shown up to your booking and collected your ticket from reception, you must proceed to the sports hall and follow the walk way to a designated station where our three most popular instructor led classes (RPM (15 maxiumum), Bounce Fit (11 maxiumum) and Body Pump 11 maximum)) will take place.

Class sizes will vary depending upon the class you are taking part in. Each instructor will have their own personal head mic and all stations have been set out according to social distancing measures. Please do not move any equipment e.g. the weights in body pump as there can be no sharing of equipment.

Classes will start 15 minutes after the gym sessions to minimise cross over of customers and only one class will take place at any one time in the sports hall. Once you have finished your class please ensure you wipe down any equipment you have used/touched and the floor around you using the spray bottles and blue roll provided. You must then leave the sports hall through the fire door as indicated by the instructor. Our instructors will then deep clean the kit using the Storm Jet 3 Back Pack containing Tersano Lotus Pro System Water before the next class starts.

Group Exercise Classes - Virtual

Members must pre-book sessions either via the App or by telephone on 01246 242365. Once you have shown up to your booking and collected your ticket from reception, members will be directed to their class using the indicated pathways. 

Only four customers per virtual class will be allowed to ensure we adhere to social distancing measures. Classes will be for 30-minutes with only Body Balance and Sprint available to minimise use of equipment. Classes will be 15 minutes after each gym session to avoid customer contact were possible.

Once you have finished your class please ensure you wipe down any equipment you have used/touched and the floor around you using the spray bottles and blue roll provided. For Body Balance customers must bring their own mat to use. 

After each virtual Sprint class has finished our staff will deep clean the bikes using the Jet 3 Back Pack containing Tersano Lotus Pro Water System.

Group Exercise Classes - Studio 3 

Members must pre-book sessions either via the App or by telephone on 01246 242365. Once you have shown up to your booking and collected your ticket from reception, members will be directed to their class using the indicated pathways to a designated station where one of the following classes will take place - Yoga, Pilates, Kettlebells and Legs Bums and Tums.

Classes will start at designated times to avoid gatherings of customers in the reception and class sizes will vary depending upon the class you are taking part in. Each instructor will have their own personal head mic and all stations have been set out according to social distancing measures.

Customers must bring their own mats for the relevant classes and Kettlebells will be placed at each station. Once you finish your class please ensure you wipe down any equipment you have used/touched and the floor around you using the spray bottles and blue roll provided. Please do not share any equipment. You must then leave by the side entrance door and not via main reception.

Lost Property

Items including mobile phones, wallets/purses, keys and jewellery will be sanitised and stored in the safe for up to three months. All other items will be discarded if they are found.
