There are many benefits for little ones to start swimming from an early age and continuing throughout their early years. The emotional, physical and psychological benefits of baby swimming not only supports their development as they grow, but helps them to learn a skill for life.
Not only this, but swimming supports little one’s emotional development through skin-on-skin bonding time and is a chance to play and have some fun!
This National Baby Swimming Week, we want to raise awareness of all the benefits early years swimming can bring, highlighting how little ones can learn to become #swimvincible through understanding how to swim safely.
This annual event encourages parents and caregivers to introduce their little ones to the joys of water and swimming in a safe and nurturing environment.
When is National Baby Swimming Week 2024?
For this first time, National Baby Swimming Week will be running from Monday 2 September to Sunday 8 September, providing a week-long focus on the importance of baby swimming.
How to get involved with National Baby Swimming Week 2024?

- Enjoy water play at home: Even if you can’t attend classes, you can introduce your baby to water by playing together in the bath or a baby pool.
- Promote water safety: Educate yourself and others about water safety practices for children, including the use of floatation devices and constant supervision.
